This small castle, within the City of Meltford, is the political center of Ebrana, if not the entirety of Ataland.

Constructed in 440 AC by Broayens during a tumultuous period when the whole island was a disrupted territory between the factions of Astrus, Broaye, and Geflus. Ebrana Castle holds significant historical weight. It was within these walls that the Treaty of Ataland was signed in 558 AC, birthing and inspiring the name of the new independent nation of Ebrana.

Ebrana Castle stands proudly amidst the urban sprawl of Meltford, its walls fashioned from the pale limestone quarried from nearby cliffs. Delicate ivy creeps along the outer walls, lending it a timeless beauty. Within the main courtyard, a bubbling fountain carved from marble depicts a fallen solider, a reminder of the costs of war.

The castle now no longer serves a military purpose, but a political one. It now hosts the rarely convened yet extremely prestigious "Council of Ataland." Comprised of the foremost diplomats from each faction, and occasionally even the faction leaders themselves. The council only meets in situations of importance to all of ataland. However, it is not a true union of factions; decrees issued by the council only hold so long the faction leaders actually enforce them. Notably, Geflus frequently disregards council rulings, often escaping repercussions due to the reluctance of other factions to confront them.

According to the treaty, the head of the Council of Ataland is the ruling sovereign of Ebrana, being the most neutral candidate. This has made the City of Meltford in to a political hotbed. Various noble lineages, each driven by their own allegiances and ambitions, vie to install one of their own upon Ataland's most important throne.

The current sovereign, Sovereign Valis Citadel, holds court within a throne room here, where she conducts official receptions for guests.
